Nine Kanwar Yatra Pilgrims Electrocuted in Bihar
At least nine Kanwar Yatra pilgrims were electrocuted and two others were injured when their vehicle touched a high-tension overhead wire in Vaishali district, Bihar. The incident happened in Sultanpur village. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh for the next of kin of the deceased.

At least nine Kanwar Yatra pilgrims met a tragic end as they were electrocuted when their vehicle came in contact with a high-tension overhead wire in Bihar's Vaishali district late Sunday night, according to a senior official.
The fatal incident took place around 11:15 pm in Sultanpur village under the jurisdiction of the Industrial police station.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his heartfelt condolences and announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh to the families of each deceased.
