Countdown Begins for 16th Xiamen International Animation Festival Cyber Sousa Award

The festival, hosted by the Xiamen Municipal Government, aims to promote high-quality animation and gaming works. Winners will be announced in November.

The submission deadline for the 16th Xiamen International Animation Festival Cyber Sousa Award is fast approaching, and participants from around the globe are actively participating. Currently, over a thousand participants have submitted more than 2,000 entries across categories like animation, comics, and games.

Hosted by the Xiamen Municipal People's Government, the Cyber Sousa Award is a leading event in China's animation and gaming industry. Since its inception in 2008, the festival has maintained fairness, impartiality, and transparency in its judging process. The competition aims to discover and promote high-quality works and talents and encourages the application of animation technology in various industries. This platform has brought numerous outstanding animation and game works to the forefront of the industry.

This year's competition features 11 categories, including Feature Animation, Animated Series, Short Animation, Student Animation, Comics, and Student Comics, with total prize money amounting to RMB 1.3 million. The competition also supports the digital economy's growth by introducing awards for ''Short Video Animation'' and ''Commercial Animation,'' promoting works that blend artistic and commercial value.

The Cyber Sousa Award Game Competition focuses on originality, innovation, and playability, featuring nine categories with a total prize pool of RMB 690,000. Esteemed judges from the industry will ensure the competition's fairness and authority. The award ceremony, taking place in November, will include online and offline exchange activities, inviting internationally renowned animation and game companies for knowledge sharing.
