Christian Kukuk delivered a faultless round to clinch the individual jumping title at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday, boosting Germany's equestrian medal tally.
The 34-year-old's victory marked his first Olympic medal, achieving a perfect round on Checker 47 in the jump-off final with a time of 38.34 seconds. This performance put pressure on fellow riders, Dutchman Maikel van der Vleuten and Switzerland's Steve Guerdat.
Guerdat secured the silver on Dynamix De Belheme, while van der Vleuten took bronze on Beauville Z after both incurred penalties. Under bright sunshine at the Palace of Versailles, these three riders were the only ones among the 30 finalists to avoid faults.
