Tributes Pour In for Veteran Marxist Leader Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday paid rich tributes to veteran Marxist leader Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, acknowledging his significant achievements and literary contributions, which have left a lasting legacy.

AIADMK general secretary and state Leader of Opposition, Edappadi K Palaniswami also expressed his condolences over the veteran's death.

Stalin expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Bhattacharjee, a stalwart of the Left movement and the former Chief Minister of West Bengal, who passed away at his Kolkata residence at the age of 80 due to age-related ailments.

Stalin highlighted Bhattacharjee's dedication and service to both the state and the nation, which he said will be eternally remembered. In a heartfelt tribute on 'X', Stalin praised Bhattacharjee as a resolute Marxist committed to fostering an egalitarian society, championing the marginalized, and advocating social justice.

His leadership and commitment to the people will continue to inspire future generations. Extending his condolences to Bhattacharjee's family, friends, and the CPI(M) cadre, Stalin concluded with 'Red Salute, Comrade!'

Palaniswami similarly expressed grief over Bhattacharjee's passing. He lauded the late leader's efforts towards ensuring an equitable society and his contributions to the state's enduring progress.
