Aamir Khan attended a special screening of his film 'Laapata Ladies' at the Supreme Court on Friday. This event was part of a gender sensitization program organized during the 75th year of the apex court’s establishment. The film’s director Kiran Rao also accompanied him during the screening.

Prior to the screening, Khan observed the court proceedings for about 30 minutes from the front row. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud extended a warm welcome to the actor, humorously cautioning about not causing a stampede in the court due to his presence. The Attorney General R Venkataramani commented on the star-studded nature of the courtroom.

Director Kiran Rao expressed being deeply honored that her film was selected for the screening. 'Laapata Ladies,' which focuses on gender equality, was also showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2023, where it received a standing ovation.
