YouTuber Arrested for Derogatory Comments on Actor Mohanlal’s Visit to Wayanad

On Friday, the Kerala police arrested YouTuber Aju Alex, known for his 'Chekuthan' channel, for making derogatory remarks against actor Mohanlal. The arrest followed a complaint by Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes General Secretary Siddique, who claimed Alex consistently abuses industry figures. Mohanlal had visited disaster-hit Wayanad in army attire as an honorary lieutenant colonel.

The Kerala police detained YouTuber Aju Alex on Friday over derogatory remarks against actor Mohanlal, who had donned army fatigues during a visit to disaster-hit Wayanad.

Alex, recognizable for his 'Chekuthan' YouTube channel, was arrested after a complaint lodged by Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) General Secretary Siddique. The complaint accused Alex of consistently abusing figures in the Malayalam film industry.

Mohanlal visited Wayanad as an honorary lieutenant colonel of the Territorial Army, prompting Alex's remarks. Siddique defended the action, stating, "We have laws in this country; we cannot sit idle as our members are frequently abused."
