Odisha Chief Minister to Hoist National Flag on Independence Day

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will hoist the national flag at the state-level Independence Day celebration on August 15. This marks the first time a BJP-led government’s chief minister will hoist the tricolour in Odisha. Several ministers and dignitaries will participate in various district-level events.

In an unprecedented move, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to hoist the national flag during the state-level Independence Day celebrations on August 15. This will mark a significant moment as it is the first instance of a BJP-led government’s chief minister performing the flag hoisting in Odisha.

Deputy chief ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida will be respectively present in Nuapada and Cuttack for the ceremonies. Echoing the spirit of unity, various other ministers will also participate in district-level celebrations across the state.

Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari will be in Kalahandi, while Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Naik will head to Sundargarh. Tribal Development Minister Nityananda Gond will be stationed in Koraput. Ganjam will witness the presence of Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, Bargarh will see Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, and Nabarangpur will have Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister K C Patra.
