Netflix Greenlights New 'Ghostbusters' Animated Series

Netflix has commissioned an animated series based on the 'Ghostbusters' films, to be written and executive produced by Elliott Kalan. Scheduled in development since 2022, the series aligns with recent 'Ghostbusters' movies. Sony Pictures Animation and Ghost Corps will oversee production, continuing the legacy of the iconic franchise.

Netflix has officially commissioned an animated series set in the 'Ghostbusters' universe, adding a fresh chapter to the longstanding franchise.

As reported by Variety, the series will be penned and executive produced by Elliott Kalan. It's slated to be in line with the recent movies in terms of tone and style.

The production, managed by Sony Pictures Animation, sees franchise veterans Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan of Ghost Corps returning as executive producers. The 'Ghostbusters' franchise, established in 1984 by Ivan Reitman, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis, continues to evolve with this new animated installment.
