Krishna Group, on Tuesday, announced a significant strategic alliance between its metals division, SKH, and global automotive supplier Magna International. This collaboration focuses on body and chassis operations in India.

The newly formed alliance, SKH M, is a pivotal element in SKH's expansion strategy, strengthening its presence in the automotive components sector, as per a statement from the Krishna Group.

The primary goal of the partnership is to merge SKH's lean manufacturing strengths with Magna's technological prowess. This synergy aims to drive innovation in chassis and body-in-white (BIW) systems, enhancing product offerings, expanding market reach, and pushing the technological boundaries in the automotive industry.

BIW represents the automobile manufacturing stage where the car body's frame is joined together before the integration of the motor, chassis subassemblies, or trim into the structure.

Historically, SKH has collaborated with firms across Spain, Italy, Japan, and Canada in various areas.

Sunandan Kapur, Vice-Chairman of Krishna Group, commented, ''This alliance is not just a step forward for our metals division but a leap towards realizing our group's vision of being a global leader in automotive solutions.''

John O'Hara, President of Cosma International, added, ''The partnership will combine our technology with SKH's manufacturing capabilities and market presence in India, offering new solutions that will shape the future of the automotive industry.''
