Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took significant steps to enhance environmental and healthcare initiatives by planting a sapling in Thane city. This action is part of the Centre's 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, where the CM urged all civic bodies in the state to contribute by planting one lakh trees each. The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has already planted 61,000 trees.

In addition to his environmental efforts, Shinde inaugurated the newly renovated Meenatai Thackeray Maternity Hospital and Dialysis Center in the city. The upgraded facility now boasts an air-conditioned maternity ward, dialysis centre, and improved infrastructure. He underscored the government's commitment to providing quality maternal care and enhancing healthcare services across the state.

Moreover, Shinde presided over the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Shiv Sena city office, an annual event, and distributed appointment letters to 10 trainees under the Chief Minister's Youth Work Training Scheme. This initiative is aimed at providing employment opportunities and focusing on skill development for the youth.
