Authorities have arrested at least one individual in conjunction with the accidental ketamine overdose that led to Matthew Perry's death last year, according to a law enforcement official who spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.

The official, who was not authorised to provide specific details, mentioned that a news conference would be held in Los Angeles later on Thursday to disclose more information. The Los Angeles police, in collaboration with the US Drug Enforcement Administration and the US Postal Inspection Service, have been investigating the circumstances surrounding the 54-year-old actor's high ketamine levels since May.

On October 28, Perry was discovered face down in his hot tub by an assistant, and paramedics who arrived on the scene declared him dead. The autopsy, released in December, confirmed that the ketamine levels in his blood were consistent with doses used for general anaesthesia. While Perry was known to be undergoing ketamine infusion therapy, the medical examiner stated that the treatment administered 1 1/2 weeks prior did not account for the found levels of the drug. Additionally, no illicit substances or paraphernalia were found at his residence. The coroner ruled Perry’s death as an accident, citing ketamine as the primary cause and other medical issues, including drowning, as contributing factors.
