Father of Agni Missiles, R N Agarwal, Passes Away at 84
R N Agarwal, the esteemed father of Agni missiles in India, passed away at the age of 84. A recipient of the Padma Bhushan, he was instrumental in the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme, initiated by A P J Abdul Kalam. His funeral will be conducted with police honors.

R N Agarwal, revered as the father of India's Agni missiles, has passed away at the age of 84.
According to sources from the DRDO, Agarwal, a Padma Bhushan awardee, died on Thursday due to age-related ailments. Known for his pivotal role in the Agni missile program, he also served as the director of the Advanced Systems Laboratory (ASL) in Hyderabad.
The Agni missile series was part of the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP), launched by former President and 'Missile Man' of India, A P J Abdul Kalam. Agarwal's contributions to this program were invaluable.
The Telangana government announced that Agarwal's funeral will be conducted with police honors on August 17. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has ordered Chief Secretary Santhi Kumar to oversee the arrangements.
