Senior journalist Amer Ali Khan and retired professor M Kodandaram were sworn in as MLCs in the Governor's quota by Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy on Friday.
Kodandaram, notable for his pivotal role in the Telangana statehood agitation, served as the head of a Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising political parties and other organizations.
Currently, he is the chief of Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS), which supported the Congress in last year's Legislative Assembly elections. Amer Ali Khan is an esteemed journalist with 'The Siasat Daily,' a widely-read Urdu newspaper.
