Vinesh Phogat was greeted with a grand reception upon her arrival from the Paris Olympics, where she faced disqualification. Despite this setback, she vowed to continue her fight against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

Hundreds gathered at IGI airport on Saturday to welcome Vinesh, who was disqualified for being overweight in the 50kg category final. Her appeal was rejected by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). On her way to Balali, she was honored by supporters and 'khap' panchayats, taking nearly 13 hours to cover 135 kilometers.

Vinesh reached her native village around midnight, receiving a heartfelt welcome. Exhausted from her journey, she addressed the gathering, reiterating her commitment to truth and her sport. Her continued fight against alleged sexual harassment by the former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, and her desire to inspire future wrestlers were central to her message.
