Vinesh Phogat, despite her disqualification at the Paris Olympics, received a hero's welcome upon returning to her native village of Balali. The journey from Delhi to Balali, although just 135 km, took her nearly 13 hours due to multiple felicitations by local 'khap' panchayats.

Phogat, a two-time World Championships medallist, addressed her supporters, expressing her yearning to see women wrestlers from her village surpass her accomplishments. 'It would be a matter of great pride if women from Balali could eclipse my records,' she stated, urging the villagers to support aspiring wrestlers.

Despite personal setbacks, including her disqualification and ongoing legal battles against the Wrestling Federation of India, Vinesh emphasized her commitment to the cause and vowed to fight for the honor of women from her village.
