The Justice Hema Committee report has sent shockwaves through society with its disturbing findings on the harassment of women in the Malayalam cinema industry. The revelations have ignited widespread calls for stringent action to ensure a safe working environment and equal treatment for female professionals.

The opposition Congress-led UDF is demanding that a team of women IPS officers investigate the complaints, while the state Women's Commission has called for immediate government intervention. 'Based on the Hema Committee's recommendations, we will urge the government to establish grievance redressal committees as per the POSH Act on shooting sets,' said Women's Commission Chairperson P Sathi Devi.

The Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), a group advocating for female professionals in the industry, welcomed the report's release. They expressed hope that the government would act on the recommendations to promote gender equality. 'This is a historic moment for us,' the WCC said in a Facebook post, 'and we thank Justice Hema, Ms. Sarada, and Dr. Valsalakumari for their efforts in compiling this crucial report.'
