Actor Michael Keaton shared his thoughts on the cancelled 'Batgirl' movie, in which he was set to reprise his iconic role as Bruce Wayne, Deadline reported. Keaton expressed indifference towards the cancellation, stating, "I didn't care one way or another. Big, fun, nice check."

Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah were at the helm of the ill-fated film. Keaton voiced his sympathy for them, saying, "I like those boys. They're nice guys. I pull for them. I want them to succeed, and I think they felt very badly, and that made me feel bad. Me? I'm good."

Keaton, who first donned the Batman suit in Tim Burton's 1989 film and returned in 'The Flash' in 2023, is revered as one of the greatest actors to portray the Caped Crusader. He credited Burton's vision, saying, "He changed everything. There's a strong possibility there is no Marvel Universe, there is no DC Universe, without Tim Burton. He was doubted and questioned."

In August 2022, Warner Bros. announced that 'Batgirl' would not proceed, leading star Leslie Grace to share the news on Instagram. "Querida familia! On the heels of the recent news about our movie 'Batgirl,' I am proud of the love, hard work and intention all of our incredible cast and tireless crew put into this film over 7 months in Scotland. I feel blessed to have worked among absolute greats and forged relationships for a lifetime in the process!" Grace wrote, adding, "To every Batgirl fan - THANK YOU for the love and belief, allowing me to take on the cape and become, as Babs said best, 'my own damn hero!' Batgirl for life!"
