Sachin Tendulkar to Flag Off Mumbai Half Marathon with 20,000 Runners
Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar will inaugurate the Mumbai Half Marathon on Sunday, which will see around 20,000 participants, including over 6,000 women. The event is expected to feature significant participation across various race categories, with elite athletes and a notable increase in female runners.

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar will inaugurate the Mumbai Half Marathon on Sunday, with about 20,000 participants expected to take part, including more than 6,000 women. Tendulkar will kick off key races from 5:00am at the Bandra Kurla Complex.
The 10K race has attracted the highest participation, with over 8,000 registrations, while the 21K half-marathon will see 4,000 runners, including elite athletes from Maharashtra and other regions.
Additionally, the 5K race will host over 5,000 runners, and the 3K race will involve more than 3,000 participants. Around 1,500 runners from the Indian Navy are also expected to join. Organisers have reported a 31 per cent increase in female participants this year.
“We aim to promote running as a fitness avenue, bringing this vision to life. It's heartening to see a significant increase in registrations for the Mumbai half-marathon this year,” Tendulkar said in a release.
