A delegation from the federation of seers from Dalit and backward class communities met with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday, offering their 'unconditional moral support' after the Governor granted prosecution sanction against him concerning the MUDA scam.
The Chief Minister's office released a statement condemning what it termed as conspiracies by the Central government and the Raj Bhavan aimed at destabilizing the state government. The seers declared their unity and commitment to fight against this conspiracy in favor of CM Siddaramaiah.
The delegation included prominent religious leaders such as Jagadguru Sri Niranjanananda Puri Swamiji and Jagadguru Sri Shanthaveera Mahaswamiji. This move comes after Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot sanctioned the prosecution of Siddaramaiah, which has been interpreted as a major setback for the 15-month-old Congress government. The High Court has deferred its proceedings against Siddaramaiah until August 29.
