President Murmu Inaugurates Magnificent Vishwashanti Buddha Vihar in Maharashtra
President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Vishwashanti Buddha Vihar in Latur district's Udgir, Maharashtra. The event saw dignitaries, including Governor and Chief Minister, participating. The 10.5-foot statue of Lord Buddha weighing 520 kg was unveiled. The establishment can house 1,200 people and mirrors a similar structure in Karnataka.

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Vishwashanti Buddha Vihar at Udgir in Maharashtra's Latur district on Wednesday.
Arriving from Nanded by helicopter, Murmu was joined by prominent figures such as Governor C P Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. A statue of Lord Buddha weighing 520 kilograms and standing 10.5 feet tall was unveiled during the ceremony. The event also featured a prayer session.
The Buddha Vihar, a replica of a similar establishment in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, spans 1.15 hectares and accommodates 1,200 people. Its entry gate reflects the design of the iconic Sanchi Stupa in Madhya Pradesh.
