India and Brunei Strengthen Bilateral Ties, Elevate Partnership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei committed to respecting freedom of navigation and overflight under international law. They discussed enhancing defence, maritime cooperation, and trade ties. Modi appreciated Brunei hosting ISRO’s TTC Station. During bilateral talks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei affirmed their commitment to freedom of navigation and overflight as per international law. The leaders also discussed enhancing maritime and defence cooperation through joint exercises.

Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude to Brunei for hosting the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) Telemetry Tracking and Telecommand (TTC) Station, which supports India's space endeavors.

The leaders explored ways to boost trade ties, commercial linkages, and people-to-people exchanges, solidifying their bilateral relationship. Modi described the visit as ‘productive,’ ushering in a 'new era of even stronger India-Brunei ties' which they elevated to an 'Enhanced Partnership.'
