High-Stakes Student Elections at Panjab University

Panjab University conducted elections to elect new members of its Campus Students Council amid tight security. With 15,854 eligible voters, 23 candidates contested various positions including president, vice president, secretary, and joint secretary. Panjab University held elections on Thursday to elect new members for its Campus Students Council, under stringent security measures, officials reported.

Out of 15,854 eligible students, many turned up between 9.30 am and 11 am to cast their votes. The election saw 23 candidates vying for key positions.

The results will be announced in the evening after the vote counting, to be conducted in the university's gymnasium hall.
