'GLOW' star Alison Brie is the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming live-action feature film 'Masters of the Universe', produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films.

The project is based on Mattel's iconic toy line that inspired a successful 1983 animated TV series and a 1987 film featuring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man.

Variety reports that Brie will take on the role of the supervillain Evil-Lyn, joining Nicholas Galitzine, who will portray the heroic He-Man. Although plot details are scarce, the storyline centers on Prince Adam of Eternia, who transforms into He-Man to defend his planet against the sorcerer Skeletor with the aid of his magical Power Sword. Evil-Lyn, Skeletor's second-in-command, possesses a magic wand with a crystal orb.

Travis Knight, known for 'Kubo and the Two Strings' and 'Bumblebee', is attached to direct 'Masters of the Universe', which has been long in development. The screenplay, written by Chris Butler, is based on initial drafts by David Callaham and Aaron and Adam Nee. Producers include Mattel Films’ Robbie Brenner and Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch.

The film also stars Camila Mendes as Teela, the captain of the royal guard and occasional love interest of He-Man. 'Masters of the Universe' is scheduled to hit theaters on June 5, 2026.
