The Congress has initiated the process of inviting recommendations for the prestigious Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration for the years 2022 and 2023.

Established in 1985 by the Indian National Congress, the award aims to promote unity and solidarity among India's various religious, ethnic, and cultural groups. It is presented annually on October 31, marking the martyrdom day of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The award includes a citation and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh, to be given to an individual or institution for their significant efforts in fostering national integration.

Past recipients include notable personalities and organizations such as Aruna Asaf Ali, Bharat Scouts & Guides, M S Subbulakshmi, and A P J Abdul Kalam. The nomination form can be obtained from the AICC headquarters at 24, Akbar Road, with submissions due by September 30.
