A twelve-year-old boy named Ashan, who dreamed of becoming a doctor, tragically lost his life after being electrocuted by a live wire near his home in South Delhi.

Premchand, Ashan’s father and a Pakistani migrant, accused the electricity department of negligence, claiming it failed to address exposed wires despite prior complaints. Local resident Sikander confirmed a similar complaint filed on August 19 but noted no action was taken.

The discom blamed monkey interference for the faulty wire and stated they are cooperating with the ongoing police investigation. A case under Section 106 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered and the autopsy report is awaited.
