Rap megastar Lil Wayne opened up for the first time about his devastation after not being selected as the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show headline performer in his hometown of New Orleans.
In an emotional Instagram video posted Friday, Wayne expressed his hurt feelings just days after Los Angeles-based rapper Kendrick Lamar was announced as the headliner. Wayne, known for hits like 'Lollipop' and 'A Milli', said being overlooked 'broke' him, adding, 'I'm just trying to put myself back together.'
Appearing sombre, Wayne explained he had to summon enough strength to share his thoughts 'without breaking.' The five-time Grammy winner noted how important the halftime spot in his city would have been for him, thanking supporters like Nicki Minaj and Birdman for their comforting words.
