The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has appealed to the Supreme Court to take suo motu cognisance of allegations concerning the adulteration of Tirupati laddus and initiate a probe to identify the culprits. At a meeting in Tirupati, attended by VHP’s international secretary Bajrang Bagra and other pontiffs, the Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal took this crucial decision.
The VHP's call to action follows claims made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who recently accused the previous YSRCP government of using substandard ingredients and animal fats in the laddus of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple.
In a statement, the VHP said, ''The Supreme Court should take suo motu cognisance of this matter and investigate it in a definite time period to identify the culprits of this unforgivable crime and punish them stringently.'' The organization emphasized the urgency of the matter, warning that any negligence or delay could lead to nationwide agitations among the Hindu community.
