Pope Francis canceled his audiences on Monday due to a 'slight flu-like state' mere days before his scheduled trip to Belgium and Luxembourg, according to the Vatican.
The Vatican described the move as a 'precautionary measure.' Francis is expected to visit Luxembourg on Thursday, followed by Belgium, where he'll end his trip with a Mass in Brussels on Sunday.
At 87, Francis has faced numerous health issues in recent years but has maintained a busy schedule. He recently completed a four-nation, 11-day tour of Asia on September 13, marking it as the longest and farthest trip of his pontificate.
