Man Brutally Beaten Over Brother's Elopement

In a shocking incident, Arshad Hussain, a resident of Arela, was brutally attacked and tied to an electric pole after his younger brother Amir eloped with a woman from the same area, police reported on Wednesday. The woman's family, who were upset with the union, took out their anger on Arshad.

According to authorities, the accused party surrounded Arshad on Tuesday night as he was on his way home. They seized him, took him hostage to their house, and beat him with sticks, belts, kicks, and punches. The beating continued the next morning when Arshad was tied to an electric pole on the roadside.

The victim was brought to the police station while being assaulted and is currently receiving treatment at the district hospital. Dataganj Police Circle Officer KK Tiwari stated that the attack stemmed from an old rivalry. An FIR has been lodged against nine individuals, with three already taken into custody. Further investigations and searches for other suspects are ongoing.
