A dramatic five-day standoff unfolded in Odisha's Sundargarh district as a man held a school under siege, demanding a house and other properties from the government. Three individuals were injured during the incident, including two policemen and the school headmaster.

Authorities mobilized a massive response, involving 60 personnel from the police, fire brigade, and district voluntary force, along with a drone camera and a metallic net to capture the assailant, Dhani Munda, who armed himself with a bow, arrows, and a slingshot.

Munda, a resident of Phuljhar village, barricaded himself on the terrace of the Badjal Government Primary School, injuring inspector Suresh Chandra Pradhan and another officer who tried to intervene. He was eventually apprehended and taken to the local police station. The siege interrupted school activities, forcing students to attend classes elsewhere.
