As Tripura prepares for its grandest festival, Durga Puja, security measures have been intensified across the state and along its border with Bangladesh, police reported on Tuesday.

This year, the northeastern state will host 2,850 Durga Pujas, with 450 taking place in the Agartala Municipal Corporation area. Chief Minister Manik Saha has already inaugurated at least 15 community celebrations.

The Tripura High Court has limited sound levels for the festivities to 65 decibels, and banned music between 10 pm and 6 am. To ensure safety, authorities have mobilized additional forces, with particular attention to crowd control and border security.
