During this year's Durga Puja, three Bengali films have captivated audiences, drawing substantial attention and revenue. Released on October 8, 'Tekka', 'Bohurupi', and 'Shastri' have been met with enthusiasm, especially from cinephiles attending the festive screenings.
EIMPA reports show 'Bohurupi' leading the pack in audience preference, notably achieving 132 nearly full screenings by Mahasaptami. Meanwhile, 'Tekka', supported by producer and actor Dev, is making strides with a Rs 1.5 crore revenue in just three days.
'Shastri', featuring veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, is also attracting significant viewership. The festival's success marks a robust period for Bengali cinema, as stakeholders hope the trend continues post-festivities.
