Ayodhya's Deepotsav: A Dazzling Cultural Extravaganza

Ayodhya comes alive with the vibrant Deepotsav celebrations, showcasing 18 tableaux from Ramcharitmanas, inaugurated by Culture and Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh, MLA Ved Prakash Gupta, and Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi. The festival features global performances and aims to set a world record by lighting over 28 lakh diyas.

On Wednesday, Ayodhya embraced a festive atmosphere as colorful processions paraded through the temple town in honor of the eighth Deepotsav celebration. Eighteen stunning tableaux illustrating scenes from the Ramcharitmanas were featured in the procession, which traveled majestically from Saket Mahavidyalaya to Ram Katha Park, amid the sound of firecrackers and vibrant gulal.

The floats were unveiled by Culture and Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh, MLA Ved Prakash Gupta, and Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi. Saket College students creatively depicted the 'Putrayeshti' Yagna and Shri Ram's coronation, bringing these scenes to life with live narration by folk artists. The journey was scheduled to culminate at Ram Katha Park, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was set to welcome the idols of Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman.

In addition to the festival's grand tableaux, the Uttar Pradesh government endeavors to set a new world record by illuminating over 28 lakh diyas along the Saryu River this evening. The government has made extensive arrangements to accommodate 5,000 to 6,000 visitors at the ghats, and 40 large LED screens have been installed to broadcast the event live, enhancing the celebratory experience.
