Kill Bill Vol. 3 still looks possible! Will Nikki avenge her mom’s death?

The idea of Kill Bill Vol. 3 seems to have not died even after around 15 years of the making of Kill Bill Vol. 2. Some projects are truly legendary to continue to be in existence in concept only and this highly anticipated movie is one of those projects.

Quentin Tarantino is well aware how fans, mainly martial arts film lovers, are passionately looking forward to Kill Bill Vol. 3, but he never left out the options of denying what he earlier declared it a trilogy for multiple times. Reports say that the 55-year old director had already spoken to Uma Thurman on a potential return for the third instalment, but he himself still remains non-committal on actually progressing the sequel.

But things surrounding the making of Kill Bill Vol. 3 look more complicated as far as Uma Thurman’s returning as The Bride or Beatrix Kiddo is concerned. She revealed herself as one of the women abused by Harvey Weinstein, which she revealed in an interview with The New York Times in February 2018. In wake of the multiple sexual abuse allegations against Weinstein, Quentin Tarantino permanently broke all ties to his company. Tarantino’s former girlfriend Mira Sorvino also experienced a similar sexual abusing experience with Weinstein.

On the other hand, the returning of Uma Thurman is not expected in the movie as she reportedly had a poor experience while filming a driving scene. Tarantino required a shot and that needed her to drive a car’s whose engine had been converted from manual to automatic (which was also not running properly) and she was not given this update. Screenrant said that the director lied to her about its safety. The car crashed and she was severely injured and she still experiences pain in her knees and neck. Hence, due to her rift with both the filmmakers, she is not likely to come back in Kill Bill Vol. 3.

However, if Tarantino still wants to make the third movie of Kill Bill assuming it still a viable project, there are some possible plots which he might have pondered over. In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly in April 2004, the director discussed one of his ideas related to the sequel. “Sofie Fatale will get all of Bill’s money. She’ll raise Nikki, who’ll take on The Bride. Nikki deserves her revenge every bit as much as The Bride deserved hers. I might even shoot a couple of scenes for it now so I can get the actresses while they’re this age,” he said that time. Even The Bride was seen adding that “when Nikki grows up, is she ever wants to avenge her mother’s death she’ll be waiting for her.”

In that case, Nikki is grown up and over 20 years of age right now. If she is ready to take avenge, she can take The Bride’s help in Kill Bill Vol. 3. But who can be The Bride apart from Thurman? That’s a big relevant question! These predictions are mainly based on the director’s over-a-decade old comments or ideas that he previously shared. But we are still waiting to know whether the project is permanently dropped or not. There is so far no official note on it.
