Omar Sy Takes Lead in New 'Extraction' Series Spin-Off

Omar Sy, known for his role in 'Lupin', stars in a new Netflix spin-off series from the 'Extraction' film franchise. French actor Omar Sy, widely recognized for his charismatic role in 'Lupin', is set to lead a new spin-off series tied to Netflix’s highly acclaimed 'Extraction' movies. The limited series, receiving a green light from the platform, includes eight episodes filled with gripping, high-stakes action.

Set against the chaotic and perilous backdrop of Libya, the storyline follows Sy's character, a mercenary, as he maneuvers through treacherous landscapes to rescue hostages. The narrative promises to delve into the intense emotional conflicts and personal traumas faced by those entangled in life-or-death scenarios.

Guiding the series creatively, Glen Mazzara will assume the roles of writer and showrunner, with the involvement of Anthony and Joe Russo as executive producers ensuring close ties to its cinematic origins. Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and Chris Castaldi for AGBO, along with Sam Hargrave, Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwerin, also contribute as executive producers.
