Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman has made remarkable strides in her mission to champion female directors. Since 2017, she has collaborated with 19 female filmmakers, far surpassing her initial goal set at the Cannes Film Festival to work with one every 18 months.

Kidman emphasized the critical need to back female directors in a recent interview with Deadline, focusing on the unique challenges faced by women helming their debut projects. She candidly discussed the undue pressure to achieve perfection that many first-time female directors endure.

Her latest endeavors include the erotic thriller 'Babygirl,' directed by Halina Reijn, where she stars as a CEO entangled in a precarious affair. Kidman is also involved in a series of ambitious projects like 'Spellbound' with Vicky Jensen and Jorge Blanco, and 'Destroyer' with Karyn Kusama. Next month, her collaboration 'Holland,' directed by Mimi Cave, will debut at SXSW.
