Jaiprakash Gaur, the Founder Chairman of Jaypee Group, defended his firm's safety practices following a significant incident at the Srisailam Left Bank Canal project. Speaking at the accident site, Gaur, a seasoned professional, acknowledged that such mishaps do occur in high-stakes engineering tasks.

The accident, which saw eight individuals trapped after a partial tunnel collapse, prompted a swift response from the company. Jaiprakash Associates Ltd, which was responsible for the tunnel's construction, reported the event and detailed the relief efforts in progress.

The collapse happened after a sudden influx of water and debris during a shift that involved 60 workers. Despite the immediate evacuation ordered by the shift in-charge, eight workers, including two engineers, remained trapped. Rescue operations, supported by local authorities, are ongoing.
