Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis addresses the contentious issue of Mughal king Aurangzeb's tomb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The debate over the removal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's tomb has intensified, with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasizing the need for any actions to be taken legally, considering its protection by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Speaking at a recent event, Fadnavis acknowledged the shared desire to address the issue, influenced by calls from BJP's Satara MP Udayanraje Bhosale, a descendant of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The controversy gains further momentum following the suspension of Samajwadi Party's Abu Asim Azmi from the Maharashtra legislative assembly for his controversial remarks praising Aurangzeb.
