India Post Honors Puneeth Rajkumar with Commemorative Picture Postcards

India Post has released a set of five picture postcards to honor Puneeth Rajkumar on his 50th birth anniversary. The initiative is in collaboration with Gandhadagudi Agarbathie. A Special Cancellation will also be issued on Puneeth's birthday, March 17, accessible through Karnataka's philatelic bureaus.

India Post has unveiled a special series of five picture postcards to commemorate the 50th birth anniversary of the late Kannada film legend, Puneeth Rajkumar. The release was done in collaboration with Appu's Gandhadagudi Agarbathie, aiming to celebrate the actor's storied career and contributions to cinema.

Chief Postmaster General of Karnataka Circle, S Rajendra Kumar, announced that the postcards will coincide with a Special Cancellation to be issued on March 17, Puneeth's birthday. Collectors can obtain these exclusive items from Karnataka's philatelic bureaus, adding a special touch to the commemorative release.

Fondly referred to as Appu, following his debut film of the same name, Puneeth Rajkumar starred in 32 films and was a cherished figure in Kannada cinema. He was the youngest son of the legendary Dr. Rajkumar and gained early fame as a child actor. Puneeth passed away on October 29, 2021, due to a heart attack, leaving a lasting legacy in the film industry.
