Shehzad was arrested two days after the attack on Khan, which took place in the actor's Bandra apartment on January 16. Khan, who was stabbed multiple times, underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital. The plea presented by Shehzad argues that his arrest was illegal, citing non-compliance with section 47 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, which outlines the rights of detainees.

Additionally, the bail request claims the ongoing investigation is nearly complete, further detention unwarranted. The court will address the plea on April 1, determining whether Shehzad's continued custody is justified.
