Tragedy Strikes on Buddha Purnima: Two Drown in Ganga

In a tragic incident on Buddha Purnima, an eight-year-old boy and a 24-year-old man drowned while bathing in the Ganga River in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh. Police reported that locals had gathered to bathe in celebration, but the victims were engulfed by deep waters.
Local boatmen responded quickly to the cries for help, retrieving the bodies of Aashiq and Abhishek Katiyar. Despite immediate medical attention at the district hospital, both were pronounced dead on arrival, according to Kadrigate SHO KK Kashyap.
Expressing profound grief, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his condolences to the families of the deceased. His office conveyed sympathies and wished for the recovery of any injured via social media.
