Under the leadership of Amruta Devendra Fadnavis, the Dome SVP Stadium in Worli became a beacon of empowerment on International Yoga Day. The event united over 1,000 marginalized women, including BMC sweepers and hospital staff, in a celebration of healing and strength beyond yoga.
Adding a touch of Bollywood, actors Arjun Kapoor and Nushrratt Bharuccha supported the initiative, emphasizing the importance of connection and empathy. The day began with a moving Ganesh Vandana by children from Mitti Ke Sitare, followed by a yoga session led by holistic-health guru Dr. Mickey Mehta, who highlighted yoga as a transformative force.
Modules on patriotism, health, emotional wellness, and financial literacy equipped the women with vital life skills. The event, praised by Municipal Commissioner Shri Bhushan Gagrani and Dome Entertainment's Mazhar Nadiadwala, was a powerful reminder that wellness is a fundamental right, not a luxury.
