Bollywood icon Kajol, known for her extensive career of over 30 years, is stepping into the horror genre with 'Maa'. Despite not being an enthusiast of horror films, she expressed her excitement and challenges in working on this unique project directed by Vishal Furia.
'Maa', which shares its universe with the 2023 film 'Shaitaan' starring her husband Ajay Devgn, unfolds the story of Ambika, played by Kajol, who encounters the mysterious and disconcerting traditions of a West Bengal village. The film bridges thriller and horror elements to captivate the audience.
The production, presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, also stars Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma, and Ronit Roy. As cinemas continue to hold their magic for Kajol, she reflects on the irreplaceable experience of theatre viewings over digital platforms.
