President Droupadi Murmu landed in Jharkhand on Thursday for a two-day agenda that includes attending convocation events at AIIMS Deoghar and IIT Dhanbad. The President was welcomed at Deoghar airport amid extensive security protocols.
Murmu is scheduled to grace the inaugural convocation of AIIMS Deoghar and the 45th convocation ceremony at IIT Dhanbad. Precautions include a no-fly zone in Dhanbad and mock security drills to ensure her safety.
This visit marks President Murmu's second time participating in a convocation at IIT-ISM, following former President Pranab Mukherjee's attendance in 2014. Governor Santosh Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren are expected at the events.
