UNESCO Honors Chhatrapati Shivaji: A Historic Milestone for India

A Shiv Sena delegation met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to thank him for efforts leading to UNESCO's recognition of Chhatrapati Shivaji's military legacy. The Maratha Military Landscapes, a network of 12 forts, were recently added to the World Heritage list, marking a proud moment for India.

A Shiv Sena parliamentary delegation visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday to express gratitude for his role in securing UNESCO recognition for Chhatrapati Shivaji's military legacy.

Leading the delegation, parliamentary party leader Shrikant Shinde presented Modi with a traditional Maratha turban and a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, acknowledging the cultural significance of this achievement.

Last month, UNESCO inscribed the Maratha Military Landscapes—a collection of 12 forts of Chhatrapati Shivaji—on the World Heritage list, a development hailed as a national pride booster by Shinde.
