India Selects 'Homebound' for 2026 Oscars

'Homebound', directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and produced by Karan Johar and Adar Poonawalla, is India's official entry for the 2026 Oscars in the Best International Feature category. Inspired by journalist Basharat Peer's article and mentored by Martin Scorsese, the film has received acclaim at prestigious international film festivals.

In a significant recognition, Neeraj Ghaywan's Hindi film 'Homebound' has been chosen as India's official entry for the 2026 Academy Awards in the Best International Feature category.

Selected from a competitive list of 24 films by a 14-member jury, the choice has been applauded for encapsulating themes of friendship and social struggle. Demystifying the choice, chairperson N Chandra remarked that each film was a worthy contender.

Produced by Karan Johar and Adar Poonawalla, and featuring a star-studded cast, 'Homebound' evokes deep sentiments and was notably mentored by the renowned filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
