Governor Arlekar paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, acknowledging their shared birth date. The ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan, marking the significance of their ideals of truth and service.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Vijayan criticized the latest RSS centenary commemoration, staunchly opposing it as a slight against Gandhi's legacy. Highlighting Gandhi's principles of democracy and secularism, Vijayan emphasized their relevance in countering divisive politics.
