Hollywood A-listers Zach Cherry, Keli Reis, and Johnno Wilson have officially joined the highly anticipated 'Resident Evil' reboot, under the direction of Zach Cregger. The movie's camera roll begins in mid-October in the scenic city of Prague.

Set for theatrical release on September 18, 2026, by Sony Pictures, the project promises to stay faithful to the original Capcom game, while cleverly incorporating new characters. Cherry, best known for his Emmy-nominated role in 'Severance,' will portray a hospital scientist. Reis, known for 'True Detective: Night Country', steps into an ex-military officer role, initially crafted for a male actor. Details regarding Wilson's character are being kept tightly under wraps.

Austin Abrams, taking the lead role, partners with Cregger, who co-crafted the script with Shay Hatten. This high-profile project is produced by a collaborative team including Constantin's Robert Kulzer, Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee and Miri Yoon, as well as PlayStation Productions' Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan, with Tristar Pictures' Nicole Brown overseeing the film.
