Esteemed Bollywood actor and comedian Asrani passed away silently at 84, in line with his wish for a discreet departure. His family honored this by announcing his death only after the last rites. In a solemn departure reminiscent of his wish for simplicity, veteran Bollywood actor Asrani passed away on October 20 at the age of 84. The announcement of his death was made only after his last rites were conducted, reflecting his desire to leave the world quietly.

Babu Bhai Theeba, his longtime manager, shared insights with ANI about Asrani's yearning for an unembellished farewell. 'Asrani sahab wanted to depart like any common man. He didn't seek grandeur, merely a peaceful goodbye,' explained Theeba.

Asrani had been unwell, with severe breathing difficulties leading to his hospital admission days before his passing. Tributes flowed in on social media, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi calling him a 'gifted entertainer' and 'versatile artist'. Union Home Minister Amit Shah echoed the sentiments, honoring Asrani's contribution to Indian cinema. The actor's last cinematic appearances will be in 'Bhooth Bangla' and 'Haiwaan'.
