Qatar Museums has unveiled a new immersive exhibition showcasing the works of M F Husain, an iconic artist with a visionary portrayal of India as both an ancient civilisation and a postcolonial nation. The exhibition, titled 'The Rooted Nomad: M F Husain,' is organized in collaboration with the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art in New Delhi.
The exhibition will be open at the QM Gallery Katara from October 28 to February 7, offering visitors an opportunity to explore over 80 representative works interwoven with photographs, drawings, poems, and exclusive archival materials that reflect Husain's artistic journey and spirit.
This comprehensive showcase aims to highlight Husain's harmonized vision of a modern India, depicted through symbolic iconographies and immersive experiences. The project is a sensory narrative of his artistic pursuits from India to Doha, retracing his legacy through varied themes and distinct artistic expressions.
